A Pew Research Center report covering 37 countries finds that a median of 46% of adults expect AI to lead to fewer jobs over the next 20 years, compared with just 9% who expect more jobs. The core survey covered 42,151 adults in 36 countries, with U.S. figures drawn from separate American surveys. Job-loss expectations and AI awareness are both higher in wealthier nations, with high-income countries posting a median of 55% expecting fewer jobs versus 36% in middle-income countries.
